We’re very happy to introduce a new guest blogger who will be gracing the pages of Carindale Connect throughout this year. Vanja Stace is a local and a friend with a very strong sense of community.

During and following the Queensland floods, Vanja, along with some of her friends, has been running a volunteering and donation initiative to coordinate necessities for flood victims. She’s been working at storage facilities sorting donations and coordinating volunteers as well as a range of other logistical tasks. The project grew very quickly and it became apparent that there were too many donations of toys and clothes and that specifics such as new underwear, hygiene products, nappies etc were urgently required. Through her efforts, people came on board from other states to donate goods and she organised getting it freighted. Vanja has been showing great initiative and leadership in communicating what is required and making it a really constructive and essential project.
She’s been concerned that many people are losing interest now. Much help is still needed and will continue to be for a long time. The world needs more Vanjas!
Vanja is a fashion blogger and a marketing consultant. She’s going to be our “Fashionista in residence” this year and she’ll be providing fashion insights and info to Carindale Connect readers.
“My career started in Auckland (New Zealand) where I completed a Visual Communication degree. After the degree I was working in the marketing department of a successful fashion label. My role included sales & marketing, design and PR.”
And she’s continued doing amazing things and working in really interesting roles.
