There was lots of activity today at the construction site for the long awaited new Carina Police Station.

The factory-built building was transported on trucks to the site at the corner of Narracott Street and Creek Road. The building arrived plumbed and wired, with light fittings and power points already in place.

Steve Kilburn MP says the quick on-site construction time minimises inconvenience to surrounding land use and the plan is designed to suit the site and surrounding environment.

“The design and construction method means that residents will see the new police station appear to be built in a couple of days,” Mr Kilburn says.

The projected opening date is approximately November 11th, however Mr Kilburn says the actual completion date could be earlier.

“I have been closely monitoring the progress of the new station and I look forward to the day that our local police officers can move into new purpose built facilities which will enhance the police presence in the Carina, Carindale, Camp Hill area,” He said.

There is an open day planned for the new Carina Police Station and we’ll update our readers when a date has been set for that.
