I would like to open a discussion on whether other people are sick and tired of the poor internet coverage of the Carindale area. It has long been known that this area’s internet is supplied through outdated technology (10 year old RIM’s and the Mt Gravatt sub-exchange). The Mt Gravatt sub-exchange is frequently affected by the slightest environmental change, such as rain. Now, I don’t claim to be an expert on this subject but this is what I have gathered from my own research. I am, however, well experienced as an end user of this service. I have studied an I.T Traineeship, Bachelor of I.T and ran 2 businesses – all dependent on this poor internet service. I have tried several different ISP’s but there is very little competition in this area as Telstra owns much of the technology. With the changes in the demands of modern technology, it is becoming harder to offer competitive services on an unreliable and slow internet connection. I would like to see if anyone else is in the same situation and would like to see some improvement. The Carindale area is a great place to be, with the exception for those that use the internet.
