I’m seeing more and more signs of solid interest in Mansfield real estate. Investment in this suburb follows the strategy of finding a very popular suburb and picking the suburb next to it.

We’re now seeing investors and first home buyers coming into Mansfield with it being far more affordable than Carindale and providing good median house price growth.

Mansfield is approximately 11 kilometres south-east of the city. It has all the accessibility that Carindale has. It is close to Westfield Carindale, Westfield Garden City and the Gateway Motorway. The extension of Scrub Road on to Wecker Road has been an added benefit for Mansfield’s access.

It is also in close proximity to Bulimba Creek Parkland and bikeways.

The equivalent property in Carindale would be significantly more expensive and people are finding there are bargains for the same house in this neighbouring region.

Mansfield State High School has an impressive name and is in demand by many parents. I’ve had queries from house hunters asking if particular properties we have listed are in the Mansfield State High School catchment area. There is especially a lot of international student families seeking out the school.

Many queries are coming through from people seeking the classic brick and tile property. Lower set houses are more attractive to the older generation moving away from the big family home now that they are older empty-nesters. It’s also been a strategy for this group to find a lower maintenance property and to downsize to provide extra equity for their retirement.

With so much going for it and yet it still being so affordable I see Mansfield as one of the next hot spots of Brisbane.
