The Carina Leagues Triathlon Club is holding its annual sign-on day on Saturday 13th October from 8am to 9.30am at the Clem Jones Centre, 56 Zahel Street, Carina.

Head Coach Warwick Dalziel said new members of all ages, shapes and sizes are most welcome.

“Our increasingly popular beginner junior triathlon program is a major recruiting focus this season as we are looking for more young athletes aged from 9 to 13 years,” Warwick said.

“We have been voted by authorities as Triathlon Club of the Year in Queensland for the last two years in a row, but our club is really for everyone from just beginners to elite athletes.

“There is nothing quite like the excitement of doing some good training and then having a go on big race day along with many other people of similar ability and interests.

“At Carina, we cater for all types of competitors, starting with young children through to our more discerning mature aged athletes. With expert coaching and excellent facilities at our disposal, our members compete in a broad range of events, from the local short distance courses right through to ironman distance.

“We are proud and very supportive that  a long list of athletes  over the years  has been selected for regional, state and national level representation,” Warwick said.

“The club will be putting a free BBQ breakfast which offers new members a chance to meet club coaches and various other members.

“Russell Clapham, the club president, and I will explain how the club works for new members and parents at a  8.30 am meeting. Representatives from Triathlon Queensland, the state controlling body, and major sponsors Carina Leagues Club will both be on hand so new club members can also sign-up with these organisations on the spot.

The club has a range of attractive apparel that can be purchased on the day from polo shirts, hats and training singlets.  Club triathlon suits with individual names on the back can also be ordered.
