UPDATE: A man has been charged after an incident at Upper Mount Gravatt in which a man sustained a gun shot wound this afternoon.

Around 2pm, police were called to the intersection of Norton and Wheeler streets after reports a 31-year-old man had sustained a gunshot to his lower face.

He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The 24-year-old Wishart man has been charged with one count each of attempted murder and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is due to appear in the Holland Park Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A 44-year-old woman from Upper Mount Gravatt is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
