The office of Steve Minnikin MP, the State Member for Chatsworth, is promoting Buy Locally Saturday on 27th July as part of the inaugural Queensland Small Business Week.

For Buy Locally Saturday, several local businesses have provided special deals which customers can redeem on the day.

For example, Slick as a Dog in Kenrose Street Carina, will be offering 30% off a wash and dry for dogs. Pacific Golf Club is offering two coffees for the price of one. You’ll just need to get hold of the vouchers (and book if necessary) and present them at time of purchase.

Mr Minnikin says it is a great opportunity to remind the community of the importance of supporting local businesses.

“Small business is truly the powerhouse of Queensland’s economy,” Mr Minnikin said.

“Queensland is home to 412,000 small businesses, who employ over 1 million Queenslanders.

“While the Government is working hard to support small businesses, we cannot succeed without the local community’s assistance.”

Participating businesses are:

  • Zorba Hair Fashions
  • Carina Barbers
  • Slick as a Dog
  • Canine Comfort
  • A Night in India
  • IGA Tingalpa
  • Michael Salm Meats Carindale
  • The Thai Orchid
  • Due East Bar and Grill
  • Vital Beauty Carina
  • Plaster Fun House
  • Pacific Golf Club
  • Todd’s Hifi
  • Little Mermaid Seafood
