We are very proud of our strong team of 10 boys who have been selected to represent the Under 12 Boys for Southern Districts Spartans Carina in the Basketball Queensland Junior Basketball Competition (BQJBC).
The purpose of the BQJBC is to provide competition pathways for the elite junior players in South East Queensland.
This competition runs from September 2013 through to March 2014. Halfway through this representative season these boys are sitting at the top of the ladder for Premier League (Division 1) in South East Queensland. It is the most talented team of 9 and 10 year old boys we have seen come through this competition in the last few years.
The Under 12 Queensland State Championships are being held in Townsville in April 2014, and we believe we have a strong chance to bring this title home for our community.
While the parents share a great portion of the costs involved – uniforms, training, registration, referee, coaching, and court fees, we are seeking your help to enable this trip to Townsville for the State Championships.
We are looking to raise $9,000 to assist this team with travel costs. We have to date raised some money by holding fundraising BBQs, raffle ticket sales, moneyboards and cakes & sweets, and will continue with this.
We would greatly appreciate any monetary donations available, and are seeking any items that may assist our team or be raffled as a prize. Youth programs like ours depend on the generosity of donations to make them a success.
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
