The following article has been submitted by Andrea Jost, P&C President, Nursery Road State Special School at Holland Park.
With our big Nursery Road State Special School P&C Fundraiser event this weekend, we are very lucky to have been given a wonderful gift to help and support our fundraising. ‘NURSERY ROAD’ is an original artwork by Tim Sharp, created for the wonderful families and friends of Nursery Road State Special School.
Tim has donated this fantastic framed original artwork featuring his famous superhero Laser Beak Man to the Nursery Road P&C to help us in raising money for our kids. It will be auctioned at the Big Night Out on Saturday 14th June. Tim and his mum Judy are great friends of Rose Pearse, our Vice-President of the P&C.
You may love art, you may want a very unique and valuable memento of your child’s time and journey at Nursery Road or you may want to show how supportive you are of our incredible school by donating the artwork back to the school to proudly display. Whatever your motivation is, please do not miss this special opportunity!
Tim is a delightful and generous young man who is a hero to the autism community here in Brisbane, around Australia and the world. Tim created Laser Beak Man when he was 11 and his playful, happy and literal superhero has featured in all of his artworks ever since. His website is www.laserbeakman.com
Tim was selected to represent Australia at the Very Special Arts Festival in Washington DC when he was 16. He has gone on to have many sold out exhibitions and became the 1st person with autism to have an animated series made and screened on ABC3 and the Cartoon Network. Tim’s original pieces are highly sought after.
Last month Tim received a standing ovation at the Sydney Opera House for his TEDxSydney Presentation made with his mother Judy. It is truly inspiring.
