On Tuesday morning during peak hour, a motorist contacted police and reported that there was a dark red sedan driving erratically near the bus depot on Creek Road, Carindale. They stated that the vehicle was swerving all over the road and had nearly side swiped several roadside barriers. There were two small children in the back seat.
A number of police vehicles conducted patrols to locate the vehicle and one attended at the registered address. Not long after the subject vehicle returned driven by a 41-year-old Mansfield man.
Police say that the man denied he had been driving erratically and told police he was dropping his children off at school. Upon submitting to a random breath test he was more than four times the legal limit.
The man has been served with a notice to appear in Holland Park Magistrates Court on November 3rd.
