Artist Sally McLean is looking for a venue to run Adult Art Classes on a Wednesday or Thursday morning in the Carindale area (including surrounding suburbs). If you know of any possible venues please contact Sally 0438 186 821 or sally@sallymcleanartist.com.au.

Press Release: Police Minister Neil Roberts and Commissioner Bob Atkinson today joined local MPs Steve Kilburn and Cameron Dick for the official opening of the new Carina Police Station.
Mr Roberts said the state-of-the-art facility – at the corner of Narracott Street and Creek Road – would serve as the base for local policing in Carina and surrounding suburbs for many years to come.
“The construction of this new facility was a commitment made by the Bligh Government in the lead-up to the 2009 State Election and we have delivered on that commitment,” Mr Roberts said.
“The station replaces the former Camp Hill Police Station which has been identified by the Police Service as no longer being suitable to meet the needs of the local community.” Read the rest of this entry »

Carindale Connect’s sister site Bulimba Connect is for sale.
Bulimba Connect’s Editor Melanie is relocating overseas with her family soon. We have therefore reluctantly decided to sell our Bulimba and surrounds community web site, and are looking for the right person or people to take it over and own it.
Bulimba Connect, which was established earlier this year, was built utilising the model of Carindale Connect, which was created in 2007 and continues to be managed by two Carindale locals.
The sale includes the entire Bulimba Connect website, access codes, enewsletter email list, Twitter account, Facebook page, domain names etc.

This weekend, tens of thousands of Australians will be off to do a bit of shopping. But what most of us haven’t bargained for is that the new bed, desk or kitchen cabinet we purchase comes from the destruction of our precious native forests.
Happily, David, a fellow GetUp member from your area, will be delivering our petition for forest protection to the Carindale Harvey Norman store this weekend.
