New P205 bus service for Scrub Road / Carindale Heights

New bus service P205A new bus route from Carindale will be available from Monday 29 August. The inbound services pick up from Scrub Rd South via Scrub Rd and Winstanley St to stop opposite Carindale Shopping Centre then Willard St, then Samuel St Shops and express to Buranda busway station, then express to City (Elizabeth then to Queen St).

Fete at Belmont State School on Sunday

Bemont State School invites everyone to attend their annual Showtime Carnival. Enjoy a family day out, take the opportunity to see their facilities, school and community spirit.

There is lots to see and do including rides, stalls, entertainment, fun craft activities for kids, prizes and raffles. The car raffle is a new Barina Spark. You can park with ease on their top oval (access from Old Cleveland Road).  The fete runs from 10am – 3pm.

Petition – bus services

There’s a new petition regarding the bus services along the Creek Road corridor and the need for better cross-suburban services between major hubs such as Carindale and Garden City. The petition, posted online yesterday, asks for the introduction of additional bus services between Garden City and Carindale via Creek Road. The chief petitioner is Ian Walker, LNP Candidate for Mansfield.

Brisbane City Council Budget

Lord Mayor Cr Graham Quirk handed down his first budget today. There is $552.8 million in the budget for improvements to the suburban road network.

Deputy Mayor Cr Adrian Schrinner (Councillor for the Chandler Ward) has listed the local area road resurfacing projects in the budget, $2.5 million in total:

Check out the neighbourhood on Google Street View

I’ve been busy checking out lots of places I’ve lived, worked and visited around Australia with the arrival of Google Street View in Australia.

So let’s take a look at what’s just up the road…

Now this may be a bit of a sad reminder, (but we should not forget it or let what happened happen again!) … I’m talking about the beautiful Moreton Bay Fig Tree that was removed. When a Google auto mobile went along Scrub Road the fig tree was still there. Read the rest of this entry »
