We also sought some comments from the Bat Conservation & Rescue Qld. Inc which has been vocal online about the media’s portrayal. The following post is by Denise Wade, the group’s Vice President:

Cannon Hill State School

Last month we wrote a post about the Cannon Hill State School Fete that’s being held on the 10th September. The school’s fete committee have been seeking various help from the community to make it a success and I touched base again with Tanya Zenoni, the Fete Convenor, to get an update on how it’s all going.

Horse hair, silk, fur, feathers, chains and recycled sheet metal are just some of the materials Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE (MSIT) students have used to create an outstanding display of garments for the Unwrapped fashion parade.

More than 40 Advanced Diploma fashion students will showcase an extensive array of colour, talent and artistic flair on Wednesday 27 July at the MSIT Creative Industries Precinct.

The gala event will be an opportunity for the institute to celebrate the imminent unveiling of a $6.9 million refurbishment for the Mt Gravatt campus fashion training facilities which will incorporate modern, industry-standard equipment and teaching rooms. Read the rest of this entry »
