Additional to growing organic produce, other features of the farm include a grey water system, solar power, windy loo & innovative composting techniques.   • Mt Gravatt Challenge

    mtgravattchallengeOn the 2 June 2013 the inaugural MT GRAVATT CHALLENGE will be held, bringing with it the opportunity for the community to challenge themselves against the Mountain and support a great cause at the same time. Consider a team entry to compete within your company or with another company, or simply to have some fun walking with friends. Families may enter as a group and enjoy some time together. And, especially for dog lovers, you can bring and walk your dog up the mountain too! The walking/jogging or running course starts at the base of Mount Gravatt Mountain on Shire Road, Mt Gravatt, and rises 132 metres over a distance of 1.5 kilometres of beautiful bushland scenery. Once you reach the summit you will be rewarded with a fantastic vista of Brisbane city looking north to the Glasshouse mountains, entertainment, prizes and if you wish, you can enjoy a coffee and a light meal at the Echidna Magic Cafe. This is a fun, local event that will enhance and build partnerships in the local community, increase community awareness of Rotary International, promote healthy activity for all members of the community and support the local branch of Meals on Wheels.

    Free workshops will keep you in tune with the issues that most resonate with the Community. Learn about transition to Independance, Transport services, selecting the perfect mobility device, assistive listening device technology,  and more.
    Events and activities—the perfect complement to exhibits and education—is the entertainment. There are dance and singing performances from The Tertiary Place,  We Raise the Bar and Miraa House also Drumming & African Story telling by Multicap.  You can get involved or sit back and enjoyGuest Speakers- an added bonus to ask questions and catch up on the latest information available regarding the NDIS/Disability Care Australia, Public Trusteee, Qld State “Your Life Your Choice” program, and be enspired by George Kambouris an Athlete with a disability and learn about his Program “Living on Wheels” to help People with disability from age 3 manage their wheelchair, and enjoy some fun times.

Attention is given to good sportsmanship and participation to make everyone feel like a winner.
