A taxi driver has received injuries in an attempted robbery this morning. Around 2.40am two men approached the parked taxi outside the Medical Centre car park at the Carindale Street entrance of the Carindale Shopping Centre. They allegedly got into the taxi and a verbal argument started. The men got out but allegedly continued arguing with the driver and punched him in the face a number of times through the open window. They then allegedly punched the windscreen smashing it. The driver managed to close his window and phoned police. The two men ran off on foot heading towards Creek Road. The driver suffered two lacerations to the right side of his face and swelling to his right eye. He was taken to the PA Hospital for treatment. Two men aged 28 and 25 are assisting police with the investigation.
