Police are appealing for witnesses after a 12-year-old boy was assaulted at Carindale yesterday afternoon.

Around 5.15pm the boy was pushing his bicycle in a green space area, in the vicinity of a dog park in Ablington Way, when a male jogger approached him and grabbed him by the waist. The boy fell to the ground and started crying causing the man to flee on foot.

He is described as Caucasian, with a fair complexion, approximately 40-years-old, around 180cms tall with a thin build, small pot belly and short straight greying brown hair. The man was wearing a grey t-shirt, black knee length shorts and white sandshoes.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen a man jogging matching this description is asked to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.
