Glenn Millar presenting bowling mats to Belmont Services Bowls Club President Graham Condon

Last Saturday was the President’s Fours Tournament at Belmont Services Bowls Club and there were over 120 bowlers involved.

The club also started a new sponsorship with real estate agent Glenn Millar from Real Estate Agency Harcourts Carina/Carindale.  Glenn presented each team with new bowling mats and says there’s now no excuses now for slipping and bowling badly!

“It was a very busy day, with great bowling, great laughs and great friendships,” Glenn said.

I had the pleasure of meeting Glenn at a recent grants community information evening run by Steve Kilburn MP. Glenn has door knocked over 1500 houses in the area recently, and he’s interested in growing Neighbourhood Watch and other community initiatives.

Carindale resident Allan West has recently joined the Belmont Bowls Club and attended the President’s Tournament too.

Allan said he’s new to bowling and chose Belmont Bowls Club after enjoying himself there at a barefoot bowls afternoon organised by local Amy Mulvihill to raise funds for the Lions Medical Research Foundation through the Lions Club.

“The club was so welcoming to me as a new member, assisted with free coaching and I now feel part of a great club,” he said.
