Police are investigating after a car was set alight in a Carina driveway last night.

At around 9.15pm police were called to the Cambridge Street address to find the car alight in the driveway, before it rolled down the driveway into the garage of a house.

A man, woman and child escaped the house uninjured.

The fire was extinguished a short time later, with the house receiving smoke, fire and water damage. The car was totally destroyed.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious, and will be examining the scene today.

Investigations are continuing.
