A local resident has provided this update:

Just thought I would let you know (so you can let your members know) that we had an attempted Break-In at our house in Fooks Street, Carindale last Thursday 28th Nov between 9am – 1.30pm. (Our house is in the middle of both ends of the street with another street nearly directly opposite us) A Red Car pulled up opposite our house with 2 people wearing all Black clothing, tried breaking in through our front door with a crowbar until our neighbour heard a noise & investigated. She yelled out “Oy” & one of them walked back up our driveway & onto the road & said “Oy What” back to her. As an elderly neighbour she wasn’t sure what to expect however luckily they jumped back in their car & drove off. She wrote down the number plate & called the Police straight away who were out within minutes. She was told the number plate didn’t match the car & it seemed the number plates were from a stolen car in Hope Island. With Christmas just around the corner might be an idea to let your readers know to fully Lock Up, even though we were it still doesn’t stop these mongrels! Thanks to our neighbour otherwise we would have got home from work after a 12 hour day to find our house broken into!

This follows an actual break-in on Tuesday 12th November between 6-9pm on Cadogan Street, Carindale. This is around the corner from Fooks Street.
