Carindale Residents: Please be aware.
Update by Senior Constable Jess Hopkins
Since the start of the year there has been an increase in the number of break and enter offences in your suburb. In the past week however, police have noticed a spike in the number of ‘forced’ break and enter offences being committed.
Offenders are entering houses by cutting fly screens, unlocking insecure doors and jemmying open doors and windows. The majority of these offences are occurring sometime between 3:00am and 6:00am. Some offenders have been disturbed by resident’s getting ready for work. Please be advised that if confronted offenders will usually run from your home.
Offenders are targeting portable items such as handbags, phones, money and in some cases car keys.
Please assist your local police by ensuring your home is appropriately locked and secured when you go to sleep and store all valuables out of sight.
Police have increased targeted patrols in these areas. If you observe any suspicious behaviour please contact 131 444 or if someone is breaking into your house please contact 000 immediately.
