Terri Butler (ALP) the Federal Member for the seat of Griffith spoke to Karl Stefanovic about her co-sponsorship of a bill for marriage equality which has cross-party support.

Backbenchers Teresa Gambaro (LNP) and Warren Entsch (LNP) drafted the same-sex marriage bill, to be seconded by Terri Butler.

“We need the Prime Minister to let his people have a free vote,” Ms Butler tells Karl on the Today Show.

“It has a clear exemption that says if you’re a minister of a religion, if you’re a chaplain, you won’t be required to officiate a same-sex wedding. There’s a clear majority of Australians in favour of same-sex marriage.”
