Starting Sunday January 31 2016, the Carindale / Carina region will have a new market to fulfill your Sunday morning food cravings as well as buy fruit & vegies and unique handmade items from.
This new offering – “Moo and Glue” – will see a farmers, craft and boutique market in the grounds of the Carindale PCYC with a strong focus on ‘local’.
Local resident, Cathrin Feltham, is the woman behind the new market and she’s busy organising a variety of stallholders.
Cathrin is also the founder of the Mamma Mia Markets in Bulimba that she has been running for over a year. She’s expanding on that concept by introducing food, activities and a new location.
“I’ve learned by doing, really, more than any other way,” she says.
Cathrin started out with a growing interest in handmade and, encouraged by friends, having gatherings and displaying her creations in her backyard.
Baker’s Corner on Kenrose (located in Kenrose St, Carina) is one of the local businesses you will find there.
Both permanent and casual stallholders are welcome to apply. The set-up will potentially cater for up to 80 stallholders.
Cathrin, with the help of her market-keen friends, is investigating particular types of stalls to ensure an interesting mix.
“We have someone selling flowers, but it would be nice to have someone selling plants too,” she says.
“I’m really interested in some quirky handmade things … something a bit different.”
Kids will be entertained with various activities including plaster painting and face painting.
The furry kids will be looked after too with Cathrin planning various dog-friendly attractions.
